BIO

Demetre Souliotes first found dancing at a young age growing up in Los Angeles in the forms of Hip-Hop, Pop’n’Lock, and later House Dancing. He discovered West Coast Swing and has never looked back. He has been performing and competing professionally in the top division in the world, the Champions Division, for over 20 years. Demetre is a full time dancer based out of San Diego where he is co-founder of SD Westie and Westie Groove. He is a nationally sought after Teacher, Coach, Judge, DJ, Videographer and Mentor. He is one of a handful of current Champion Dancers who have helped shape what WCS is today, he’s been nominated to the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame 5 times.

West Coast Swing instructor with a focus on accessing healthy, pain free movement.

Mia got her start young in musical theatre after discovering a love of performance during her time as a competitive cheerleader. She has trained in acting and vocal performance, as well as a variety of solo dance styles including jazz, tap, ballet, and contemporary. Partner dancing is the creative marriage of everything she loves: music, dancing, performing, and improvisation. Lately she has expanded her studies and teaching to include functional movement and gait analysis through the methodology of Anatomy in Motion, which she uses to give dance students better access to the possible movement within their own bodies.

Through providing empathetic spaces, I create safe, welcoming, and inclusive communities where people can thrive. These dance spaces allow myself and others to explore creativity and movement while positively impacting mental and physical well-being through physical activity.
